Insects Everywhere and Everyday :-)

I found a Tiger Swallow Tail Butterfly.
They were all very friendly, they let me get
close to them.

This is a Black Swallow Tail.
Look at the spot at the bottom, it looks like a Panda face!

Right there on the white little flower is a HoneyBee pollinating. I found a bunch of them and a Yellow Jacket. I stood away from the Yellow Jacket because I already was stung in the neck to death!
If you want to learn how to identify butterflies here are 2 helpful sites. http://www.discoverlife.org/20/q?guide=Butterflies

http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species?l=1356
I found a bunch of snails too!
They slimed my hands!!!
They are NOT insects they are
Mollusks. But I want everyone
to know that I found some in
the garden.

Well Goodbye. See you next year!!!!!!!!!!!

Mimicry!!!

This is the Viceroy Butterfly. This butterfly looks a lot like the Monarch butterfly. BUT, there is a difference. Look at the two pictures, the Viceroy has a stripe on his back wings. The Monarch does not. The Viceroy does this to protect itself from predators. He uses mimicry to trick birds into thinking he's a Monarch which is poisonous to them. This is a cool trick!

This is the Monarch butterfly. See NO STRIPE!

Another good mimic is this Scarlet King Snake. The truly poisonous snake is the Coral snake.
He tricks his enemies into thinking that he is poisonous.

This is the real poisonous snake. The Coral Snake.
Here's an easy way to remember which is poisonous and which is NOT:
" Red on yellow, kill a fellow. Red on black won't hurt Jack."
THE END...

I Scream for Seaweed!!! Mmmm!!

Did you know that ice cream has seaweed in it to make it thick? If you like it meet your doom!!! You cannot taste the sea weed, but you should refuse it. Just kidding!! I will still keep eating ice cream because it is sooooooo GOOD!!! I don't care what they put in it :-}

This is me on my Time4Learning website. I did excellently on my quizzes, because they were about sea creatures. I got a lot of 100's... but they should be 10,000,000,000,000,000's!!!!

P.S. We found Skull today... but he's dead too. (x _ x)

The Worst Day Ever :- (

Today I woke up to find my hermit crabs Skull and Peach missing from their cage. We found Peach in the kitchen without shell. We still can't find Skull. He can climb and crawl and could be in anything. I hope he comes out. I will put his food and water on the floor in my room, so he can come back.

Can all my friend please pray for him? Please, I will appreciate it. I am feeling a little sad so I can't blog anymore. Goodbye.

My Favorite Toys & New Bob!

This is Bob. Betty made him and he is so cool. She is an impressive toy maker. He has super

powers, he shoots out plasma. Betty is our friend, well mom's friend, but she likes to be with kids

too. She took us out for lunch, we were like a gang at a restaurant, but we didn't steal, we just

acted a tiny bit crazy. I ate with chopsticks today for the first time. Then we went to the park,

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Now Bob is home with my best friends that all have super powers: Pengwy, Mama Alligator,
Henry Hippo, Moose, Spider Dog, Flame Frog,Crocky, Snakey. I can't find my first guy, Latte.
The human is me. So long. Farewell. Nice talking to you. Goodbye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Favorite Caterpillar : Stella

This is Stella. She is an Eastern Tent caterpillar. We brought her home and put her in our butterfly tent. In two days she spun herself a very impressive cocoon. There's a little problem though, she spun it right along the zipper of the tent door!!!! So we have to be EXTREMELY careful when we open it. I like her a lot, even though she's going to turn into a moth and not a butterfly. We are ordering our Monarch pupae and they will come soon. In a few days she will pop out of her cocoon and I will go back to where I found her and let her go. She is that yellowish thingy at the bottom of the zipper.

We did make a mistake and brought her to NY, which we should never do. We can bring an invasive species to our area and be in big trouble. Mom is scared to let her loose here in Queens. This is her life cycle. Goodbye.

Henry, Henry & Henry

Hello - I would like to introduce our Red Ear Sliders (turtles). They are my favorite reptiles. The biggest is named Henry #3, the medium is named Henry #2, and the smallest is named Henry #1. Chloe named them all that because first she had Henry #1 and then just named the others the same name.
In this photo I am scrubbing the turtles shells with an extra toothbrush. I bathe them in the bathroom sink. Their shells should always be clean. They tend to shed their skin from their shells and body. So I like to help them stay clean and healthy. In the Spring and Summer they eat a lot. But during winter they don't eat much. Next time they shed skin I will post a photo. The smallest Henry is 9 years old and the other 2 are over 10 years old. The END!!!!!!!

Officer Kai

This is us in the cage. Where they put the criminals. That's me sitting there. Some kids were screaming like maniacs.

This is me on a police motorcycle. It was very comfortable. I was pretending to drive it.

We were answering questions about safety and calling 911. I like to ask and answer questions.
I had a fantastic time. And they gave us a workbook. I am not going to be a police officer because I will be studying fish. Thats it.

Regal Horned Lizard!!!

This is a blood squirting lizard. It's real name is Regal Horned Lizard. It lives in Mexico. It is the coolest reptile ever created. I would love one of these as a pet and not allow any canines in my house. This Lizard is spectacular!!!! I went to the park yesterday and a boy had a Yellow Gecko. Maybe I can get that. This lizard is my favorite. Bye. Enjoy the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Hermit Crabs: Skull and Peach

These are my Hermit Crabs. The one with the Skull is named Skull and the Peach one is named Peach.
Sometimes they pinch sometimes they don't. They eat Hermit Crab Cakes. They like to play with you. Sometimes they are not in a good mood and that's when they pinch you.
This is a close up of Peach. My dad had to hold them for me because my mom and Chloe don't like to touch them because they always get pinched. I was pinched once, but I got over it.
I learned how to take care of my Hermit Crabs from this website:
